Chariot. During the Bengali month “Ashar” a big festival called “Ratha
Jatra” takes place here in Dhamrai.
After
this you will go to have some snacks at the Joy Restaurant situated
just in front of the monument, before going to the famous pottery
village in Kakran. To reach this village you will have to leave the
vehicle at Nayarhat and take a small ride by boat for about 20-30
minutes. The accompanied guide will make all the arrangements.

when there was widespread use of pots & utensils made from the
clay, most of the people of this village used to be potters. Now you
will see that only few families are still trying to hold this profession
as their living.

about 85 km southeast of Dhaka and well connected by road the journey
will take two and half hours time. Upon arrival you will visit "War
cemetery" where you can see the graveyard of the soldiers died in the
Myanmar front during the World War-2. Drive to the Archeological camp
where the Salbon Vihar and the Museum are located. Excavated Buddhist
remains of 8th/9th century are dotted all the way along the north -
south running Lalmai - Moinamoti - hill range.
From here the following adjacent sites you may also visit: Ananda Vihar, Charpatra Mura, Itakhola Mura, Rupban Mura, Kutila Mura and Triratna Stupa. Among these,the Ananda Vihara, the Charpatra Mura and the Kutila Mura are situated within the Moinamoti Cantonment are therefore, prior permission of the cantonment authorities is necessary for the visit.
